Privacy Policy

MellowPace stores the schedules, errands, and timer records you enter on your device and in your own iCloud. These records are never sent to our servers, and we cannot see them.

1. Information Handled

Your entries and records are kept on your device and in your own iCloud, and we do not collect them. See Section 4 for advertising data.

2. Storage

Your entries and records are stored on your device (including the on-device storage shared between the app and its widgets) and synced through your own iCloud, as described below. Notifications are scheduled on-device, and natural-language input is interpreted on-device (using on-device AI or on-device rules).

About iCloud Sync

So that your iPhone and Mac show the same content, MellowPace syncs your entries, records and settings through iCloud (Apple’s CloudKit private database) while you are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID. The data is stored in your own iCloud account, not on our servers. Only you can access it, and we cannot access, view or collect it. iCloud data is processed and protected by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy (it is encrypted in transit and on Apple’s servers). If you are not signed in to iCloud, or turn iCloud off for MellowPace, your data stays only on that device. Place reminders work only on iPhone, and Calendar events are read from each device’s own Calendar and are not synced.

About Location

When you use “Place reminders,” MellowPace uses your iPhone’s location (with “Always” permission if needed) to know when you arrive near a registered place or leave home. This is determined only by iOS on your device; no location history is kept, and nothing is sent anywhere, including to us. MellowPace also uses your registered home place or, only if you have already allowed location access for the features above, your device’s last known location, to calculate on your device the sunrise, sunset and the position of the sun, moon and stars shown in Monitor mode, Today and widgets. It is not sent anywhere, and MellowPace never asks for location permission just for this. If neither is available, an approximate position is estimated from your region and time zone. If no errand has a place, no departure is set to start from home and no home place is registered, location is not used for anything else.

About Calendar

Only when you turn on “Show Calendar events” in Settings, and after you grant permission in iOS or macOS, MellowPace reads your device’s Calendar (including Google Calendar or others synced to it). It is read only for display and never adds, changes, or deletes events. Event details are used on-device to show on Today, Me, widgets, and Apple Watch; they are never sent to any server, including ours, and are not used for advertising. You can choose which calendars to show and whether to include all-day events. Turn the setting off, or revoke permission in the system settings, to stop reading. For widgets and Apple Watch, only the title, date and time of events in the next 48 hours are shared through on-device storage and between your iPhone and Apple Watch.

3. Purpose of Use

4. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your entries or personally identifiable information. MellowPace uses Google AdMob to display banner ads in the app, configured for non-personalized ads. Depending on your region and consent choices, Google may process device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic information. Your schedules, errands, and records are not provided to Google. If you purchase “Remove ads,” no ads are shown. Purchases are processed by Apple, and we do not receive your payment information. Where required, Google’s consent form is shown and your choices can be reviewed from the app’s Settings. Google’s servers may be located outside Japan and the EU, such as in the United States. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.

Apple (iCloud) is used only as the place where your own data is stored and synced under your Apple ID; we do not receive that data. Ads are shown only in the iPhone version. The Mac version shows no ads and sends nothing to Google.

5. Retention & Deletion

Your entries and records are erased when you delete them in the app. Removing the app from a device does not delete the data synced in your iCloud. To delete it, open Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage on iPhone (System Settings › Apple ID › iCloud › Manage on Mac), choose MellowPace and delete its data. Because iCloud keeps your devices in sync, deleting an item on one device also deletes it on your other devices.

6. Security

Data are stored in the protected storage of iOS and macOS and in your own iCloud (encrypted by Apple in transit and on its servers), and advertising-related communication uses HTTPS.

7. Your Rights

We do not store your entries or records on our servers and do not physically retain them, and we cannot see data stored in your own iCloud. You can review, correct, or delete your data within the app, and delete iCloud data as described in Section 5. If you have questions, contact us at the address below. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Legal Compliance

We handle information in accordance with applicable laws, including Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU residents, and U.S. privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

9. Changes to This Policy

We will announce any changes on this page at least 7 days in advance.
